What is the role of a Referrer?
Quite often people in a food crisis are already being helped by a statutory or voluntary service. Their role after assessment of the need is to put the person in contact with foodbank4whitby, which is an independent charity staffed by volunteers. The referrer will provide basic information needed by the food bank, such as name, address and telephone details, the family size and the nature of the underlying emergency so that people can be helped with food in the most appropriate way.
